  • 250 grams date paste
  • 20 grams (2 tbsp.) cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp. natural date syrup

For the coating:

  • Ground coconut or sesame seeds

  1. In a food processor with a steel blade, grind all the ingredients into a uniform mixture.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a work surface and divide into 2 parts.
  3. Roll each part into a tight cylinder and cover in coconut or sesame.
  4. Cool for 30 minutes in the refrigerator to set and serve.

Recipe Notes

  • Instead of ground coconut you can use chopped nuts or Funfetti for coating.
  • The chocolate salami is kept in a closed container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  • Instead of date paste, you can use 250 grams of pitted dates (about 12-14 Madjhool dates).
